Unfortunately I had some how missed printing out travel instructions from Yosemite to San Francisco, so I had to get some directions from the office.
After one last check on the directions we handed in the keys and we were ready to go.
Fun little tunnel.
All the while we were on the lookout for Bears as we saw lots of signs that said:-
"Speeding kills Bears"
Finally on our way out of the valley.
Beautiful open farming land either side of the CA 120.
We soon arrived in Oakdale population 20,000 where we stopped for gas and a bite to eat at McDonald's. There is free Wi-Fi at McDonald's apparently.
Back on the road again still heading through Oakdale.
Not long now:-
It had all seemed so easy until now and as we approached the next section it had us wondering if we were still ok.
Not to panic we were still heading the right way.
As we neared San Francisco we slowed to pay our toll of $4 to cross the Oakland Bay Bridge.
Wow what an impressive bridge.
From there it all went pear shaped and we got totally lost and ended up in a part of town that I didn't feel comfortable in and I just wanted to get out. With no idea where to go we looked at the map, which didn't help us and we then ended up crossing back over the Oakland Bay bridge and we took the exist to Treasure Island.
The upside is that the view was great.
We stopped and David asked a local policeman for directions. It all made sense when he explained it. So back over the bridge we went again, good new was, we didn't have to pay the toll again.
We then drove to Lands End and onto Bakers Beach where we grabbed some photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately the weather was not to good for our arrival.
After stopping for our first look at the Golden Gate we then drove around the coastline towards your hotel.
We checked into the Chelsea Inn at about 4.00pm, unpacked the car and went to find the nearest laundromat.
The laundromat was only a five minute walk from the Inn which was very handy.
To pass the time doing an unpleasant job, but so necessary, there was a few silly things going on.
After the work was done we had IHOP for dinner and called it a day.
