Road Tripping to Yosemite

Up bright and early for a big drive today.

We were all packed and ready to go at 6.30.  A stop at McDonald's for breakfast and we made our way to the I 15 without any problems.

We had an another lesson today when we pulled over to put gas in the car, you have to pay for it first and then go back in the get the change.

Feeling a little like the Millers as we passed through the Agricultural check point with our apples we bought yesterday.  All was good no need for us to stop and we made a quick getaway.

Following the I 15 for about 2.5 hours before we veered to the right on to the CA 54 heading for Bakersfield.

Passing though a town I think.

A lot of windmill farms out here.

Stopped for lunch at a truck stop with lot of big vehicles.  Trucks, fifth wheelers and large Utes.

We are finally out of the desert.

Getting close to our new destination leaving CA 58 and entering CA 99 N Sacramento.

We finally arrived at Yosemite National Park after a very long drive and had to stop at the visitors centre for some directions to our Lodge and were surprised by these very cheeky squirrels. Their was one squirrel stealing paper napkins from the dispenser and stuffing them into his mouth.  Boy did he get a lot in.

We finally arrived at our accomodation at 6pm and it looks great.

This is the magnificent view of the mountains from our cabin.

An there is a the sunset in the day.  Looking forward to an early night.
