Los Angeles Day 1

Today we had a jam packed day in LA, but first breakfast.  The Magic Castle must have a lot of Australian clientele because they had Vegemite as a condiment for breakfast.  Emma was very happy about this, even through she isn't a great lover of vegemite, but it made a nice change from all the very American food we had had so far.

We jumped in the mini van and headed a little out of the city to Warner Bros Studios.  We had a nice and early tour of the studio booked.

This was the tour trolley that took us around the studio lot.

We headed inside first to wait for our tour group to gather.

Then it was time to see how the movies are made.

This is the alley were Spiderman was shot.  The scene were Spiderman is hanging upside down in the rain and were the kiss happens.  Our guide told us some very interesting trivia about the making of the movie, including how they add a milky like substance to the water so the rain show up on the camera.  Also how Toby McGuire actually shot the scene himself, hanging upside down, with water running into his nose.  So they had to stuff his nose to stop the water and then he sounded funny and they then had to do voice over in the studio.  All the time Kirsten Dunst couldn't stop laughing.

City sets that are made of lightweight material and changed around to suit the style of movie being shot there.

The hallway of high school eg Grease.

The set from Full House but the original one is in San Francisco.

Superhero's Museum, Harley Quinn.

We then headed over to the props department and very able to sit at the presidents desk from the West Wing.

The Bat Mobile Cave.

We were all really looking forward to seeing the set from Friends.  But this is a real working coffee shop.

What a kick having our photo taken on the couch from the Friends set.

Movie trickery an how its done.

The girls were able to hold real Oscar.

After the tour of the Studio, were headed back to LA and went to Madame Tussards on Hollywood Boulevard.  We took lots of photos but here is just a few.

This morning we sat at the Presidents desk and this afternoon we meet with him.

We then went to the Hollywood Museum which showed memorabilia from Hollywood movies.

Level 2 was dedicated too child stars and the girls were thrilled to see Hannah Montana and High School Musical.

We called it a day then and went back to the Magic Castle.
